Golden Gingerbread Latte + DIY Spice Blend

Today we’re making: GOLDEN GINGERBREAD TURMERIC LATTES.

And we’re doing so using a DIY spice blend to make the process even easier.

It’s the dairy-free, naturally sweetened, golden colored drink mix of my dreams, inspired by my love of both golden milk and gingerbread lattes. I fused the two together, and here we are.

It’s the perfect drink for:

  • trimming the tree
  • cozying up on the couch
  • taking out to a tree-lighting ceremony
  • pouring into an insulated mug to take shopping
  • sipping on lazy weekend mornings before anyone else is awake
  • drinking before bed to help wind down after a long day

translation: there’s really no wrong time to drink this golden, frothy, perfectly sweet, gingerbread-infused latte.

You could also tie some ribbon around a jar and gift it to a latte loving’ friend this holiday season.

Let’s make it, shall we?

First, we make our spice mix. Then we make our lattes.

To a jar we’re going to add warming spices like turmeric, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, and black pepper.  Seal the lid, shake it up, and you’ve got enough spice mix to make a dozen lattes.

Next, milk gets heated on the stove. I personally love coconut milk here, but use whatever gets you excited. The thicker and richer the better, in my opinion, but let your tastebuds guide you. If you like thinner drinks, by all means, use what you like.

While the milk warms up, we add our spice mix to a blender with a splash of vanilla, a tiny drizzle of molasses, and as much honey or maple syrup as you want to make your tastebuds happy. Molasses drives home the gingerbread flavor, while honey or maple syrup lends a touch of natural sweetness.

All that’s left to do is add in the hot milk, blend until frothy, and pour into your favorite latte sipping vessel.(<– affiliate link).

Tiny gingerbread men on top are totally optional, but pretty much make this the cutest drink, ever.

If you’re a fan of warm, spiced, frothy drinks, this homemade Golden Gingerbread Latte is sure to be a wintertime favorite! It takes literally 5 minutes to mix up and makes the most warm, comforting, cozy lattes. I hope you love them!

P.S. If you happen to be as big of a lover of Luce Farm’s Hemp-Infused Honey as I am, go ahead and drizzle it into your latte instead of the honey/maple called for in the recipe. You won’t be mad you did.

Time 5 minutes
Course Drinks
Servings 15 lattes

Ingredients

spice blend

  • 3 Tablespoons turmeric
  • 2 Tablespoons ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

to make each latte

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Golden Gingerbread Spice Blend
  • 8 oz milk
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup more or less, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon molasses

Instructions

  • Put all spices in a small jar, seal the lid, and shake well to combine.
  • To make a latte: warm milk in a small pot on the stove until hot, but not boiling. Alternately, this can be done in a mug in the microwave for about 60 seconds.
  • Pour hot milk, spice blend, honey, and molasses into a blender and blend for 10-15 seconds, or until combined and frothy. This could also be done directly in the pot with a whisk or a hand-held milk frother! Pour into a mug and enjoy immediately.

Notes

The spice mix above yields enough to make 15 lattes and fills a half pint mason jar about halfway full. Feel free to double, tie a ribbon on it, write instructions for making a latte, and give as a gift!
To make this a more traditional latte: add a shot of espresso!
