School is coming, and that means somebody has to start packing lunches again. Maybe that somebody is you, sending off your kids to school. Maybe you are a childless adult who also still needs to eat lunch, and could use a few ideas for packing a lunch every day that is easy, but still delicious. Maybe you ARE the 14 year old who needs to eat lunch, and could use some helpful ideas on what to pack now that your parents have handed over the lunch-making reigns. You can absolutely make these yourself, I promise.
If you’ve already seen my Back-to-School Snack Ideas, you’ll see where I’m going with this whole 5 wraps deal. Five different flavors means you can mix and match lunches to keep your life exciting and avoid eating the same thing every single day. Buy a big pack of your favorite wraps on Sunday, and you can eat a different flavor Monday through Friday.
I wanted to keep these flavors somewhat simple to gear them towards kids’ palates and to take the stress out of packing lunches. You should definitely use these as a jumping-off point for your family’s favorite flavors, though. If your kids don’t like sprouts, swap in baby spinach or romaine. If you love bold, spicy flavors, be sure to drizzle in some sriracha or add pickled jalapenos. If you have any die-hard meat eaters in your house, a few slices of turkey or leftover rotisserie chicken would pair well with almost all of these, too.
Now that I’m officially back in my classroom for the year, I need quick, easy, cold lunches that will power me through the day. A lot of the time, this ends up being a big container full of various snacks, adult-lunchable style. When I’m in a rush or low on groceries, though, wraps are always my go-to lunch. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Wrap Idea 1: Hummus + Cucumber Slices + Sprouts
Wrap Idea 2: Peanut Butter + Banana Slices + Honey + Cinnamon
Wrap Idea 3: Open Faced Broccoli-Cheddar Omelette + Jarred Salsa
Wrap Idea 4: Pesto + Cucumber Slices + Sun Dried Tomatoes + Feta
Wrap Idea 5: Dijon or Honey Mustard + Cheddar + Apple Slices + Greens
