HOLY MOTHER OF SUMMER… it’s almost September.
I firmly believe that summer isn’t over until the calendar says so, but still. The fact that September is this weekend has me all sorts of shook. In four months we’ll be ringing in 2020. I’ll be 30. Christmas will be over. Peanut will be 1.
WHAT IS HAPPENING? I cannot handle the accelerated pace at which life moving.
Okay, enough remarking on the passage of time. Here’s what I was up to this August: so many weekend trips (or, like, at least four, since that’s how many weekends there usually are in a month), hiking barefoot through sand dunes, eating the very best fried dough, teaching Peanut to swim (omg those little legs kicking before she even got in the water KILLED ME), spending the afternoon drinking margaritas with my gal pals (and apparently using the phrase ‘gal pals’), making s’mores in the backyard, and peach picking.
To summarize: August was good to me.
Before we dive headfirst into fall, here are the things that got me alll sorts of excited this month:

FANCY FACE SERUM
And by fancy, they mean expensive. But holy moisture this stuff is amazing. It comes in a tiny baby dropper bottle that seems outrageously small for the price, but hear me out: it’s made from seriously high quality (all-natural/non-toxic) ingredients and you only need like 2 drops on your fingertips to massage into your face and feel the most refreshed, ever. I like to use it at night after I wash my face and wake up feeling like a queen. Not to be dramatic or anything. If you want in on this goodness, use this link to get 10% off your first order!
BRIDGE RING
I bought myself this ring earlier this month and have worn it literally every day since. I love the silver-on-gold, how simple yet chic it is, and the fact that all of their products are handmade by women paid a fair wage for their labor, both in the U.S. and abroad. If you haven’t stumbled across ABLE yet, I highly recommend checking them out, even if not for this ring!
PEACH PICKING WITH PEANUT
Low key the best part of the month: standing in the shade of a peach tree, eating warm, drippy, sun-ripened peaches with Kevin and Peanut. It’s one of the experiences I look forward to most each summer, and was so fun to share with our number one good girl. In true Peanut fashion, she was fairly certain Kevin picked this entire box just for her and was deeply depressed to find out she wouldn’t be getting them all, despite how many times she attempted to give Kevin her paw.
FULL SPECTRUM HEMP EXTRACT (aka CBD, but better)
I know. This isn’t the first time I’ve shared my love for Luce Farm’s wellness products…and to be honest, it likely won’t be the last, either. I typically use their CBD products in the week leading up to my period, and it has pretty much eliminated all menstrual cramps/discomfort I used to experience; this month I’ve just been loving it as a part of my general wellness routine to help manage the stress of life. I’ve been using their full-spectrum hemp extract most lately, but all of their products are made from family farmed, organic, minimally processed hemp, and are the highest quality CBD products I’ve found. If you’re struggling with chronic pain, inflammation, stress, sleep issues, etc, I can’t recommend them enough! P.S. Use the code ‘BG10’ for 10% off your orders on their site.
STAINLESS STEEL LUNCH BOX
It’s kind of embarrassing how excited I am about this lunch box, considering I am not in elementary school and I currently work from home, so I have no real need to pack a lunch on a daily basis. BUT STILL. This month we travelled a lot, and I’m forever packing 1,000 snacks to take with us in the car. Rather than tossing two mason jars, five containers, and a parchment-wrapped sandwich into my bag, I streamlined the process to just use this stainless lunch box. It has been a game.changer. I love the nesting compartments, the fact that it’s completely plastic-free, and how sleek it is. If you actually need to pack a lunch every day, I think you’re going to love this box.
That’s it! Tell me: what you got you excited this month? What are your thoughts on summer? Happy to see it go? Kicking and screaming as they pull you off the beach? I want to hear all about it.
