A quick + easy matcha latte recipe infused with the medicinal health benefits of CBD! This creamy, frothy, herbal matcha latte is sweetened with honey and extra rich and creamy thanks to coconut milk.
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite ways to enjoy CBD: in a matcha latte made from 5 simple ingredients in two minutes flat.
The citrusy, herbal flavor of Luce Farm’s hemp pairs so well with matcha, that it’s gotten to the point that I don’t even want to drink matcha if there isn’t CBD in it! [pssst: you can save 10% on all their products with code: BAKEDGREENS]
If you’ve been around here for a while, you already know how completely smitten I am with everything my friends over at Luce Farm create (thats Luce like ‘loose’ or ‘goose’, btw. I know lots of people have been asking how to pronounce it!). They grow the hemp used to make their CBD products on their sustainable 200-acre farm in the hills of Vermont, where, in addition to hemp, they also have goats, chickens, geese, horses, dogs, and two adorable human children.
A few weeks ago, Becca and Joe Pimentel invited us to come visit them and see the farm, and so we made the 3-hour drive up to Vermont to meet their family and learn a little bit more about their lives on Luce Farm.
And, while I have written sponsored recipes for them in the past, this post is not sponsored (they don’t even know I’m writing it…surprise!); I couldn’t help but share a little glimpse into this passionate family’s life, and their beautiful farm in Vermont.
Luce Farm is nestled on music mountain, where the crickets and cicadas chirp out a melody to anyone willing to stop and listen. Their property is dotted with old apple trees, wild berry bushes, natural springs, vegetable and herd gardens, and rolling hills planted with hemp. Goats and chickens roam the fields, clearing tall grasses and insects, and fertilizing the soil. Bears, turkeys, moose, coyotes and beavers are out there too, living in harmony with this beautiful piece of land.
You can feel the passion and love that goes into caring for Luce Farm as soon as you arrive. Being on their farm is like taking a deep breath of fresh air- not because of the absence of city lights, noise, and pollution- but because of the way the Pimentel family is nurturing, restoring, and respecting the land they live on, and their unwavering commitment to sustainability and organic farming. I’m getting the chills just thinking about it; their farm is truly a special place.
The Pimentels live in the original farmhouse on the property, surrounded by red and grey barns and ample farmland and forests; tucked up on a secluded hill is a white tipi, which is where we spent the night, breathing in the cool, crisp mountain air and feeling absolutely free.
My love for Luce Farm’s CBD products was already strong before visiting their farm, but after walking through their hemp field, playing with their dogs and kids, sharing meals in their kitchen, and seeing how passionate they are about their farm, I am completely and totally captivated by the work they do and the quality of the products they make.
So, let me break it down for you:
CBD, aka cannabidiol, is a compound found in the hemp plant. It’s found in lots of other plants, like broccoli, but it’s especially prevalent in hemp, and is used to manage and treat a variety of ailments such as stress, anxiety, chronic pain, inflammation, and more. Although it comes from the cannabis plant, it is neither psychoactive nor intoxicating; CBD does not get you high and is legal in all 50 states.
The Pimentels grow their sustainable, organic hemp right on their farm, then opt to extract the CBD from the hemp in the most gentle, natural way possible to preserve the nutrients in the hemp (which costs more money to do, so most big hemp companies don’t go this route). Once the CBD is extracted from the hemp, it is then used to create the products that they sell on their website. I go into more detail in this post about the medicinal/health benefits of CBD, if you’re new to it and want to learn more.
Over the past year, CBD products have become an essential part of my wellness routine. CBD is great for alleviating pain and inflammation in the body, and Luce Farm’s hemp products have become a game changer during my period, which used to be moderately painful for the first day of my cycle. Now, I make sure to sip on a CBD Matcha Latte, stir their honey into my nighttime tea, or take a few drops of their sublingual extract in the days leading up to my period, and find that I have little to no menstrual discomfort whatsoever. I’ve even found that I start craving the flavor of CBD more when my period is about to come; it’s like my body knows what it needs and is giving me a gentle reminder to take some herbal medicine.

For this latte I take my favorite matcha (<–affiliate link) and blend it with homemade thick + creamy coconut milk coffee creamer, raw honey, hot water, and Luce Farm’s CBD. A few seconds later, I have a thick, creamy, frothy latte perfect for sipping on; I love that the ingredient list is short, so I don’t have to pull out 10 jars from the cabinet to make a latte, and it still packs big flavor and health benefits thanks to the matcha and CBD.
If you’ve never tried CBD before and are interested in Luce Farm’s products, here are my general thoughts:
- THEY ARE ALL AMAZING GO BUY YOURSELF SOME RIGHT NOW. (Okay, sorry, but it had to be said)
- Their Full Spectrum Hemp Extract (the one in the dropper bottle) gives you the most bang for your buck, so to speak, as you get more milligrams of CBD per dollar spent. If you think you’d be more likely to consume it if you could just put a few drops under your tongue and swallow- much like taking a dose of medicine- this is the one for you. It’s also great for travelling- I just pop the bottle in my bag when I’m heading out of town.
- Their Hemp Honey is the most magical, herbal, piney, beautiful tasting honey I’ve ever laid my tongue on and, if your’e someone who likes to drink lots of tea, drizzle honey over yogurt and oatmeal, and bake with honey, you’ll love having this jar around.
- Their Hemp Coconut Oil is ideal for cooking or baking, blending into bulletproof coffee, etc. I also find this one tastes most strongly of cannabis, so if you’re uncertain about the taste, I’d recommend the dropper bottle or the honey, which are both more mild/subtle/nuanced in flavor.
- Their Hemp Topical Balm is the best for sore, bumped, bruised, inflamed, or otherwise troublesome skin/muscles. If you’re not sure if you’d ever really eat CBD, this is a great way for you to still incorporate it into your life! It’s also a great gift for anyone in your life who works with their hands and is in need of relief.
If you’re looking to incorporate more herbal medicine into your life, I hope you’ll consider giving Luce Farm’s products a try- I truly could not recommend them any more highly. Don’t forget to use the code BAKEDGREENS when ordering to save yourself 10%! (<- P.S. I make no money off of this, just requested they create it for me because I want you all to try this amazingness!)
And, if you already have a jar sitting on your shelf, put it to use in this CBD Matcha Latte! The herbal, slightly smoky, citrusy flavor of hemp is a perfect match for the grassy, slightly bitter, bold flavor of matcha.
If you make this recipe or have any questions about CBD, be sure to leave a comment below. Or, take a picture of your latte and share it with me on Instagram…I love seeing my recipes in your kitchen!
- 1 teaspoon matcha*
- 1 serving of CBD**
- 1/2-1 Tablespoon raw honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup my homemade coconut milk coffee creamer (or any thick + creamy milk of choice)
- 1 cup very hot (nearly boiling) water
- optional: 1-2 teaspoons virgin coconut oil (to make it extra frothy!)
- 1. Put all ingredients into your blender and blend for 10-15 seconds, until fully combined and frothy. Taste and add more honey, to reach desired sweetness level. Pour into a mug and serve immediately.
- -No Blender? Whisk together the matcha, milk, and water in a small pot on the stove until steaming. Turn off the heat and whisk in the honey and CBD, then pour into a mug and enjoy!
- *I always buy organic, ceremonial grade matcha because it's the best tasting!
- **I HIGHLY recommend Luce Farm's hemp products here, as they're the highest quality I've found. I like to use: .50mL of the Full Spectrum Extract (the dropper bottle), 2 teaspoons of Hemp Honey, or 1/2 teaspoon of their Hemp Coconut Oil. All three of them will yield a similarly delicious latte. If using the hemp honey, adjust or eliminate the quantity of raw honey to suit your tastebuds.
