Extra garlicky hummus topped with a DIY (or store-bought!!) everything bagel seasoning makes for the perfect savory, salty snack situation. Pile high on your favorite everything bagel for maximum everything bagel satisfaction.
EVERYTHING BAGEL LOVERS, UNITE!!
Today we’re making homemade hummus- nothing crazy, just your typical line-up of tahini, lemon, chickpeas, and spices- except we’re quadrupling the garlic for an extra spicy punch of garlicky goodness, and showering the entire thing in everything bagel seasoning.
Trust me, it’s the right thing to do.
We’ve been loving this easy homemade dip on:
toast + bagels
veggies + crackers
sandwiches + wraps
grain bowls + salads
…and pretty much everywhere in between.
The hummus is silky-smooth thanks to my go-to hummus method of blending all the liquids BEFORE adding the chickpeas, and that everything bagel seasoning on top is seriously everything.
If you want, you can make your own EB seasoning blend with equal amounts of of sesame seeds, dried minced garlic + onion, flaky sea salt, and poppy seeds, but Trader Joe’s also sells a decent little jar of the stuff for like $2…so I often just go that route.
Either way, if you’re an everything bagel fan, you are going to FLIP over this inspired hummus recipe. It’s literally made in 5 minutes in your blender or food processor, and would make the dreamiest dip for Super Bowl Sunday.

Garlicky Everything Bagel Hummus
Time: 5 minutes
Yields: about 1 1/2 cups of hummus
Ingredients:
- 1 15-oz can chickpeas, drained and rinsed (or about 1 1/4 cups)
- 1/3 cup tahini
- 1/2 cup water
- Juice from 1 lemon
- 4 garlic cloves, peeled
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Everything Bagel Seasoning, for topping*
Instructions:
- Put all hummus ingredients EXCEPT chickpeas into the bowl of a food processor or high-powered blender. Blend until thick and creamy, then add chickpeas and blend again until completely smooth. Taste and add more salt, if needed, but remember the everything bagel seasoning will add extra salt once sprinkled on top!
- Pour hummus into a serving dish, top with everything bagel seasoning, and use a spoon to gently swirl it into the hummus. If desired, add an extra drizzle of olive oil before serving.
- Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to a week.
Notes:
*I like to buy Everything Bagel Seasoning at Trader Joe’s. If you’d like to make your own, combine equal parts of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, minced dried garlic and onion, and flaky sea salt in a small jar and shake to combine. For this recipe, you’d only need 1 teaspoon of each to yield enough to top your hummus, though I recommend using 1-2 Tablespoons of each so you have leftovers!
