A quick + easy DIY salt blend to add to all your favorite roasted veggies, meats, pasta dishes, and more!
This 3-ingredient recipe is my latest addition to Homemade Holiday Gifts Week.
Package it up into little jars (I love these 2.5 ounce cuties), tie a ribbon around it with a label, and you’ve got yourself a super simple, but totally versatile homemade gift.
My current favorite use for it is sprinkled on top of roasted broccoli and potatoes, or pinched on top of a buttered slice of homemade bread.
And I just love the pale pink color of Himalayan Salt mixed with the dark green rosemary. It’s borderline Christmas-y, if I do say so myself.
Literally anyone in your life who enjoys cooking will love this cute little herbal salt blend. And, if you feel like it, you can totally play around with other herb/citrus combinations like thyme, orange, grapefruit, and sage. Or even add in some chili flakes to add a little bit of heat to the party.
Whatever you do, you need this seasoned salt in your life this Holiday Season. It’s quick, easy, literally made from 3 ingredients, and is sure to add a little bit of fresh flavor to all of your winter cooking!
As always, if you make this recipe, let me know how it turns out! Leave a comment below, or take a picture and tag me on Instagram so I can see all your homemade gifts in action!
Stay tuned this weekend for my last two brand new Homemade Gift Ideas, as well as my roundup of homemade gift ideas on Monday December 18th!
Lemon & Rosemary Sea Salt
Ingredients
- 1 cup fine sea salt I used pink Himalayan salt
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves from about half of a 1-ounce package
- zest from 1 lemon
Instructions
- 1. Combine all ingredients in a shallow dish, and let sit at room temperature overnight (or for at least 8 hours) before packaging it up in an airtight jar. This wait time allows the rosemary and lemon to dry out and infuse into the salt. You can also speed up the process by spreading the mixture out on a sheet pan and baking in a 200 degree Fahrenheit oven for 2 hours, if desired.
